Customs update from 8/12/2020 to 8/21/2020

Good evening dear clients, today’s exchange rate for clearances is: $22.1760 MXN

We inform you that:

1.- The authority concluded the analysis to determine whether or not the countervailing duty of 15% and 22% would continue for the import of cold rolled sheets from Russia and Kazakhstan, tariff items 7209.16.01 and 7209.17.01, it was determined that “such countervailing duties continue up to June 30,  2024”.

2.- The authority concluded the analysis to determine whether or not the countervailing duty of 2.07 to 1.05 dollars per kilogram would continue for imports of carbon steel butt-weld connections from China, tariff item 7307.93.01, it was determined that “such countervailing duties continue up to August 05, 2024”.

3.- The authority made the decision that, as of October 1, the labeling of adhered and sewn merchandise can no longer be exempted (the letter of no NOM can no longer be used), therefore, in order to import any merchandise that requires being labeled, it must be labeled before being imported or use the services of the UVA (Mexican Official Standards verification Unit) where, through a service contract, the importer commits to labeling the merchandise when it is already imported, and upon verifying the fact, the UVA will issue the certificate of compliance of the labeling NOM (do not worry, remember that at HB Customs Clearance we offer this service).

Please, do not stop reading this update, specially point number 3, greetings!

At HB Customs Clearance we are at your service for any advice!
